Biography

Alain Carmasol is a research professor at the École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Metz - University of Lorraine. He teaches mathematics to engineering students in the mechanical engineering sector.

After studying engineering at the ENSMM of Besançon, he obtained a PhD in mechanics from the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in 1983.

His research work was devoted primarily to solid mechanics (dstructural design, probabilistic approaches, homogenization methods, composite materials, thermomechanics of rapid contact).

For several years, he has been particularly interested in modeling and analytical and numerical scientific computing. He is the author of a book on teaching mathematics for the engineering sciences with Mathematica, published in 2013.
